CommBizz are serving up a special evening for those seeking the peculiar. Enjoy some delicacies and heighten your sensory experience by opting to to dine whilst blindfolded. This experience was simply not borne out of a whim, but has origins as a means to spread awareness about the experiences of blind people. You'll also have the opportunity to win RMB2,500 worth of CommBiz membership in a guessing challenge!

Aug 16: Slow Boat Tap Takeover at The Hop Project

Slow Boat Brewery from Beijing is popping up at The Hop Project over on Dagu Lu. The party starts on Thursday, where you can grab beers and talk shop with Slow Boat founder & CEO, Chandler Jurinka. If you're feelin' ambitious, you can work your way through all eight Slow Boat taps. Monkey’s Fist IPA and Zombie Pirate Pale Ale are only 40 RMB all day.

It's time for Ministry of Negroni at Funkadeli. This month's installment features guest bartenders Vincenzo Losappio and Carlo Simbula from The Spirit Milano, one of the best cocktail bars in Italy. The duo will be shaking up variations on the Negroni. This is a monthly event so watch this space to see which guest bartenders will be showcasing their own takes on the Negroni next month.

This Saturday, Café del Volcán (Wuding Lu) will be celebrating their six year anniversary upstairs at 45 Degrees. On tap will be the coffee experts' latest Volcán coffee beer collaborations with Boxing Cat Brewery: Tiramisu Stout and Laundry Latte. In additon to half-off coffee, all beers and other alcoholic beverages will be just 30 RMB. If that wasn't enough, show up for the lucky draw. We hear Dutch Pie slices and coffee vouchers from restaurant partners such as Hakkasan and The Press by Inno Coffee are among the prizes. If you can't make the party, coffee will still be half off all day at their Yongkang Lu and Guanghua Lu locations.

Aug 18-19: Shanghai Craft Beer Festival

Back for its 8th year in a row, this weekend the Shanghai Craft Beer Festival is taking over Lujiazui Harbour City. Come for your old favorites and discover some new ones with all the bites and brews your heart desires (shout out to Boxing Cat Brewery for hosting).

Aug 7-31: Botanicals Month

Join Shake and Shanghai-based distillers Peddlers Gin Company for a one-month special immersive botanicals experience. What is an immersive botanicals experience? Well, you will get to touch, smell, and taste eleven of the local ingredients that make Peddlers Gin including Buddha's hand, Sichuan pepper, and lotus flower. Furthermore, enjoy bespoke Peddlers cocktails from gin and tonics featuring watermelon and mint to Wuxi peach, blueberry and more. You also won't want to miss the hot funk and soul tunes nightly.
